R. Douglas Rice
R. Douglas Rice was born in La Jolla, California in 1952. He was raised in Pittsburgh and San Francisco, and moved to New York City in 1987. He studied painting and sculpture at Phillips Exeter Academy and Stanford University, from which he received a BA in 1974. He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries in San Francisco, Stonington, and New York, and his work is owned by collectors in those cities, as well as in Los Angeles, Stockholm and Hong Kong. His current work focuses on the human body and its use as a template for abstract imagery. Douglas lives in New York City and Stonington Ct. with his wife and two children.
