Los Angeles, CA
First and most importantly, I have been married to my wife Kathy for twenty-six years. I am fifty years old and have three children, a twenty four year old daughter and two sons, twenty-one and sixteen. Until moving west in 2005, I spent my entire life residing in New York, specifically, Smithtown Long Island.
I retired from the New York City Police Department in October of 2002, in the rank of Detective Lieutenant, after an interesting and rewarding 21-year career. During my time in the department, I served in many different assignments that included the Cold Case Homicide Squad, the Internal Affairs Bureau, the Intelligence Division, the Robbery Squad and the K-9 unit. Shortly after my retirement, in November of 2002, I took a job as an Insurance Fraud Investigator specializing in organized medical fraud at the corporate level. Many of the investigations revolved around Russian Organized Crime.
In 2005 I left New York to take a job on CSI: New York. I spent two years as a technical advisor in the writer’s room where I listened, watched and learned how to build and create scripts for television. During that time I was fortunate enough to have co-written two scripts and appeared as a co-star in three episodes as Detective John Scagnetti. At the end of my second year I wrote a Cold Case Spec script and acquired an agent from William Morris. Shortly thereafter I was hired as a Staff Writer on the show. Four years later, I currently hold the title of Producer.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English. I have been writing my whole life, mostly for fun. For three years, I was a paid contributor to the Opinion Editorial section of the New York Daily News. I was also a part time technical consultant for the CBS series The District. I have written a novel titled the Bully Pulpit which I am currently attempting to have published.
